THE ‘SPECIAL’ IN SPECIAL NEEDS AS DEFINED BY INCLUSIVELY FIT

There are four major types of special needs within the traditional understanding. These include physical, developmental, behavioral or emotional, and sensory impaired disorders. We at Inclusively Fit agree that these are the ‘major’ types, but our definition of special needs goes much further. We also define special needs to include anyone that might have a ‘special’ need or face a ‘special’ challenge. For example, a youth that might be struggling with being overweight or a cancer survivor that might be looking to get back in shape. In our eyes, these too are ‘special’ circumstances. Therefore, as our name once again suggests, we ‘include’ everyone.

Any individual with a ‘special’ need, regardless of capability, is welcome.
